"Frase chevere?"
Born in Saltillo, Carmen moved to Monterrey, Mexico and took several painting and drawing classes before applying for an arts degree at the Faculty of Visual Arts in 2006. There, she joined the student board in 2007 and created Exhibeo, an art exhibit and competition that brought together five art schools from her city and its surroundings.
It was during her time at the university that she began working with the screen printing technique. Later on she became in charge of the screen printing department, where she taught the technique and managed the workshop for 4 years.
She had her first solo exhibit in 2008 "Don’t forget your manners", and later in 2009, she presented "Let me take you down, cause I’m going to..." both showcasing her screen printing works. She also had several group exhibits, one being a show in her university with works by distinguished ex-students. She went to the University of Cambridge for their Art History Course in 2009.
She graduated in 2010 and in 2012 she applied for an MA in Printmaking at the Cambridge School of Art. While there, she had two exhibitions, one of them being in the Ruskin gallery. She graduated with merit in October 2013.
